How does the BBL system work?
BBL uses low-frequency wavelength photothermal energy to safely, gently and effectively heat deep layer tissue of skin. The damaged skin cells absorb the energy and are stimulated to generate new collagen. Collagen is an important building block of healthy skin. The BBL system uses a broad range of energy wavelengths that evenly treat the skin. A thermoelectric monitoring cooling system adjusts the temperature of your procedure which eliminates the need for pain medication while ensuring that the patient remain comfortable during the procedure.
What can someone expect after receiving a BBL treatment?
Your certified aesthetician and skin care specialist will develop a step-by-step plan to help you achieve your desired results.
The entire procedure is very gentle and requires post-minimal downtime. No anesthesia is required, however, protective eyewear is provided during the procedure.
Your aesthetician will carefully apply the BBL hand piece to the treated area of the skin and deliver precise pulses of light energy to where it’s needed. This will produce a very light stinging sensation that can be easily tolerated by most people. The entire procedure usually takes less than under an hour.
Post-procedure it’s important to wear sunscreen for several weeks after the treatment in order to protect your skin while it heals. The skin surface may appear flushed for a few days following a BBL treatment and some dark spots may become darker temporarily. A good coverup makeup can be used while the skin continues to heal and the spots begging to disappear, usually in about 10 to 14 days. Generally, within a few weeks, the skin will look clearer, brighter, and have a more more youthful appearance.
Continued improvements to the skin can be applied with three to five followup BBL sessions.
