Dr. Harold Brandford was born and grew up in Barbados, West Indies. In 1968, he moved to New York City where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at Pace University and an M.D. from Cornell University Medical College.

He completed his training in anesthesiology at the University of California, San Diego, and fellowship training in pediatric anesthesia and critical care at Seattle Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington. Following this, he served as an attending anesthesiologist at Seattle Children’s Hospital and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma. He has been a practicing anesthesiologist in the Seattle area since 1980 and has considerable experience in all areas of anesthesia. For over the past twenty years, his primary focus has been in providing anesthesia for outpatient surgery for both children and adults. He is known for his calm, reassuring demeanor and efficiency as well as his engaging sense of humor and masterful technique. This provides patients with an easy, comfortable recovery.
He is married to MaryJo Newhouse, a Seattle attorney, and they have three adult children. In his spare time, Dr. Brandford is an avid photographer and enjoys listening to music of all genres.
